Hey Reader,
How is your week holding up after the time change? 😅
Life
At our house, sickness has been making the rounds. Both the kids and I have been fighting it off, and when you combine sick kids with the fall time change, you get some pretty impressive chaos.
Right in the middle of it all, at 7:30 in the morning, my 4-year-old daughter, Bri, was having a full meltdown because she hated her outfit. You know the kind where the entire morning feels like it’s hanging by a thread?
I was just trying to keep my own head above water when my just-turned-3-year-old son walked into the room, looked right at his sister, and said, “You’re so bootiful, Bri!” ❤️
Sweetest moment ever. My heart completely melted right there on the floor.
Homeschool + Math
The sickness bug showed up in my classes too. I had 4 students out in my 6th grade class and 2 missing in my 4th grade class.
Normally, an empty room like that throws off the whole rhythm of a lesson plan. But I realized I had a rare gift: the space to slow down and connect with the students who were there on a level I normally can’t.
And speaking of things taking a little longer than planned, I have an exciting update about Mrs. Holman’s Classroom! 🎉
I teased Fractions That Make Sense last month and planned to have it out by now. Right as I was getting it ready, my course platform, Teachery, rolled out a huge upgrade! Since I have to migrate all my courses over, pushing the release date back meant I could build all of the new features right into the course, plus bring lots of updates to Mrs. Holman’s Classroom as a whole. Fractions That Make Sense is still coming very soon, and it’s turning out even better than I originally planned!
Since I mentioned Teachery, a quick note for any fellow creators, teachers, or homeschool moms running a business on this list: it has been an awesome home for all of my courses and resources, and this new upgrade made it even better! If you’ve ever thought about creating your own courses, digital products, communities, or memberships, you can check out Teachery right here. It's the best business purchase I've ever made, and I've loved it the whole 2 years I've used it, and I LOVE the new update! 😊

Today is November 4th, and I have a little milestone to share. I’ve been reading through the Bible Recap this year, and I’ve officially made it all the way to today’s reading! This is the first time I’ve ever made it this far in a Bible-in-a-year plan, and I’m really proud of myself for sticking with it, despite all the chaos in my life, even when it meant catching up and doing a day or two at a time here and there (okay, maybe a lot). (This week’s germs and time change included! 😅)
We’ve been reading through the Gospels these last few weeks, and I thought I knew them pretty well, but boy, I have learned so much! What stood out to me the most is that every detail, every moment, and every miracle happened at exactly the right time. God is sovereign, and He KNOWS us. He holds our past, present, and future in His hands, and I’m overwhelmed again and again by His love for us.
As we get closer to the end of the year, it’s so easy to get lost in the hustle and bustle, or in the what-ifs, if-onlys, and even the feelings of failure over not accomplishing everything we set out to do. So I want to challenge you to rest in God’s sovereign plan and His attention to detail. He holds us and our plans in His hands. It’s hard sometimes to let go and hand my plans over to Him, but the peace I get when I do makes every hard moment worth it.
Wherever your week landed, I’m praying you feel that peace in your home today, even if the laundry is piled up and the schedule is out the window. 💛
See you soon!
